great for even beginner game-players October 17, 2006 Bramble family (Dudley, West Mids.) 121 out of 121 found this review helpful
This is a simple game for young children. There are 4 shopping lists, 4 shopping trolleys and 32 item cards with pictures of foodstuffs and other things that you can buy in the supermarket. Each player takes a shopping list and a trolley, and all the item cards are placed faced down. Players then take turns to pick cards and try to find the ones which match the pictures on their shopping list. The aim is to fill your trolley with the items on your list before anyone else gets all their things.
This is a fun memory game for even the youngest children. My two-and-a-half year old is addicted! She wants 'the shopping game' first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The great thing is that I can sit down with both her and my five year old and we can do something together that they both like. I have also been known to set them up playing with each other and then creep away and do something by myself for 15 minutes...!
My daughter's favourite game February 8, 2008 Alison (UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
My daughter is just about to turn three and this is her favourite game at the moment. The game needs 2-4 players and the aim is to collect the items on your shopping list by remembering/guessing where each item is from those turned over on the floor.
As well as being used for the game, the pieces and cardboard shopping trolley also get used for playing 'shops' with.
Speech Therapist's choice April 24, 2008 S. Rubyan-ling 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I use this game a lot in therapy sessions. It's great for learning vocabulary, practicing speech sounds, turn-taking, listening and attention, concentration, etc. etc. Best of all, the children really enjoy playing it and it shows that 'low-tech' games are still very popular.
My toddler can't get enough of this game! June 20, 2008 Nicole (Leeds, England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
My little boy (2 years 9 months) absolutely adores this game. It's good on may levels - taking turns, memorising locations, improving vocabulary, etc., but most importantly it's good fun and we enjoy playing it as a family (which is fortunate, since our son requests it most days!!). The construction is sturdy enough to withstand the attentions of an excitable toddler!
Shopping list game September 1, 2009 Delfhill (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Slightly more advanced then the Spotty Dog game but still great fun and good value. This game tests a child's memory and can be played in a variety of ways to suit the age of the child. My granddaughter of 30 months thoroughly enjoys it.
